My Mandarin Learning Journey

Hewwoo..
I guess this month is gonna be a lucky month for me because i can update my blog due to so many free time.?

Eh no.. sebab kena Restricted Movement Order due to Virus Covid-19. Hehe
Yela, almost a month berkurung, takkan nak main game. Banyak masa free yaww..

Honestly, i didn't want to tell people about my Mandarin learning journey because it's my own choice and i just don't want to have to answer to questions, like why, where, how, blablabla.
I don't want to feel like i have to prove myself or anything.

Learning a new language is really a new kind of learning. Since i started doing this in my 30s, i realise that it's hard to let go of what i know to absorb new stuff.  😭

To be honest...
I dah pernah belajar Mandarin ni masa i zaman study kat UiTM. My third language is Mandarin and i belajar dalam 3 semester tau. But then, i tak practice hape pun, bila berdepan dengan Chinese people, i dah lupa dah. 1 ayat pun tak ingat. Itu yang decide nak belajar balik. And plus.. my project ni, most of the workers comes from China Mainland. So nak cakap bahasa apa, dorang tak faham.. only mandarin je. Communication jadi susah 😭

Mandarin is not my mother tongue. Kita dah biasa cakap bahasa Melayu dan English kan. So, bila mandarin ni, sebutan lain sikit. Tak masuk bab "eh ada 4 nada lah".. Its like, kalau salah nada jadi salah maksud. Ya Allah..~~
Can you tell the meaning of all this?

Seriously..?

Oh well 💁
Kalau kita punya bahasa, tulisan dan cara cakap pun lebih kurang kan. Sampai i rasa, betullah bahasa paling mudah di dunia ni ialah Bahasa Melayu. Apa yang kita tulis, itu lah sebutannya. Hahaha.. Grammar pun takde hal kot. Bahasa Melayu ni cuma ada uniknya, tetiba ada bahasa pasar, accent setiap negeri lain and dengan tambahan 'oh, ek, hekeleh, kan..'

Even though it is not easy,
but i really enjoy it. Hehehe..

I daftar belajar kelas Mandarin ni dengan 2 orang office mate i. Rozi and Sam. Seronok bila ada kawan sekelas ni. Yela dah 30 baru nak belajar, kena la ada pembakar semangat. Hahaha senang nak buat homework dan assignment sama-sama. Lepastu get annoyed with each other.

Bahahaha..

As of now, I consider myself as a beginner. Hahaha..
I can understand a few words and can make an easy sentence (a simple one), i can read pinyin which means i can sing a chinese song (with pinyin ofkos) too, it is just i cannot speak mandarin properly and laju macam Chinese people tu. Kalau nak cakap, masih lagi mencari2 vocabs dalam otak ni.. Still struggling. hehe

A small achievement for me tau.

Actually, i ada exam untuk kelas ni. HSK exam. untuk dapatkan sijil HSK which orang kata boleh guna untuk apply kerja sebab sijil ni dah disahkan legit oleh kerajaan China. Kira macam sijil Muet la. Tapi version Mandarin gitu.  Sepatutnya Exam tu pada 11hb ni. Tapi itulah. kami tengah dalam Restriction of Movement Order. So exam tangguh dulu.

Sekarang ni, kalau pergi site, i boleh la cakap sikit-sikit dengan workers from china yang tak faham English tu.. tapi kalau dorang dah ajak bersembang, i 'zaijian' =bye kan jela. hehe.

As for me,
tak kisah la u dah umur berapa pun, jangan malu untuk belajar. Tau tak, dalam kelas i, ada ramai yang pangkat pakcik makcik pun masih belajar. And for kids, ramai Indian (ofkos Malay pun ramai). Indian pun dah mula hantar anak mereka belajar Mandarin tau. Untung kita rakyat Malaysia hidup berbilang kaum. Semua boleh belajar tanpa had.

And for those yang rasa nak learning something new, maybe u can start to learn a new language. Just plan your time and financial properly 💓

Bye~
